For more than a century, the Zamperini family has lived in the countryside surrounding the Castle of Ripa d’Orcia. Over the years the family members have dedicated themselves to the farm with love and passion, retaining the old farming traditions in the breeding, cultivation, and care of the vineyards, olive trees, and woods surrounding the farm.
The Zamperini Family
In 1999, Luca Zamperini decided to dedicate his life to his dream of making wine and olive oil. Today, that dream is a reality called Poggio Grande. An organic, family-run company in which the values of the Tuscan rural tradition have remained intact, Father-Daughter team Luca and Giulitta take care of six hectares (about 2.5 acres) of vineyards every day, four of olive groves, and twenty of arable land in the heart of the artistic, natural, and cultural park of the Val d’Orcia, a UNESCO heritage site since 2004.
